A whole bolt of fabric!

I don’t generally do “I bought this” posts, but a whole bolt of Kona Curry? That’s worth sharing!

I got a good deal on the fabric because I was buying the whole bolt (20 yards!) and I know someone who runs a little fabric shop (thanks, Brenda!)

The Ann Arbor Modern Quilt Guild is doing a solids challenge, and this bolt of Kona Curry is going to be a big part of the quilt I’m making.

Speaking of the Ann Arbor Modern Quilt Guild. I made their new logo. What do you think?

“Put a tree on it” is to Ann Arbor as “put a bird on it” is to the world of hipster crafts.

I actually made two logo suites and we all voted. I was the only person to prefer this one:

I love the dirtiness.  Oh well, maybe another modern quilt guild is in search of a logo?  As long as the city name isn’t too much longer or shorter than 9 letters, Ann Arbor could easily be changed to something else, I’m happy to edit and send the logo along.
Update:  The thread logo is on its way to Amarillo!

  1. Oh my heavens, it's like you heard what I needed today! I need a logo for the Amarillo Modern quilt guild and I haven't been happy with anything I've created. Could we use it? And by the way, before I lived here, we lived in Detroit and made many a trip over to Ann Arbor!

  2. Ooh – I love curry! Looks like I'm not the only one thinking about a different background color.

The thread logo is great too – I would have been happy with either one. I think I chose the other one because I liked the wonkiness of the design – sort of like your kelp quilt.

  3. I agree, it's totally worth sharing! It's a great color. I've got at least a yard of it in the stash. Your logos look fantastic!

  4. So glad that second logo is going to Texas. lol I don't know what I like best, the logos or the Curry…Okay, I do. I love that curry and I have not even seen any in person. I need all of the Kona solids.

  5. I like the first logo personally because I know the clean lines will translate well with any printing medium. Really like the A2MQG too!!
Have fun sewing up 20 yards of curry goodness! can't wait to see what you make with it 🙂
